Cleansorb, a leading provider of chemical well treatments that enhance hydrocarbon production for the international oil and gas industry, today announced that it has appointed two new Product Support Scientists to its product support team.

During the past year, Cleansorb has worked closely with several new and existing clients to optimise chemical well treatments, particularly filter cake clean up in injector wells, where effective clean-up is critical to success.

“To ensure that our clients continue to receive custom well treatment solutions that are environmentally sound and technically effective, we needed to plan for the future by strengthening our product support team with highly motivated, talented graduates that we can develop to support our ever-expanding client portfolio,” said Ian McKay, Director of Cleansorb.

“Looking ahead, I’m confident that strengthening our support team will contribute a great deal to our ongoing efforts to deliver high performance reservoir chemistry treatments to our clients around the world.”

The new recruits earned first-class degrees in Biomedical Science and Chemistry with Nanotechnology, providing additional expertise to the Cleansorb team.

“Having expertise in-house in numerous disciplines, including different branches of chemistry, biology, microbiology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical and food science can greatly help us to identify and develop novel and effective approaches to solving technical problems,” said Ralph Harris, another Director of Cleansorb.

The product support team is based at Cleansorb’s global headquarters in Guildford, England where the new recruits work in the purpose-built wet lab with expert chemists and liaise with experienced field engineers to formulate and further develop custom reservoir chemistry treatments, particularly for filter cake clean up, stimulation and sand consolidation.

Achieving increased production in Canada and the UK

Recently, Cleansorb completed a series of well treatments in mature vertical wells in Canada that dramatically increased oil production by up to 250% from mature vertical wells. This was achieved by treating them with a DEEPA™ formulation that increases the matrix permeability of the rock and simultaneously remediates nearby wellbore damage.

In the UK, Cleansorb is helping a major operator to enhance recovery from a maturing offshore field. As part of field redevelopment, effective drilling damage removal in new water injector wells is critical to achieving target injection rates without fracturing the reservoir. Openhole injector wells with sand screens are being treated with ORCA™ for WBM to remove water-based mud drilling damage. The operator is aiming to extend the life of this 20-year old field for an additional 20 years or more with these injection and associated production wells.

Cleansorb Highly Commended at Surrey Business Awards 2018

In other news, in recognition of its outstanding performance in international trade and commitment to improving reservoir chemistry standards around the world, Cleansorb was Highly Commended in the International Business of the Year Award category at the inaugural Surrey Business Awards 2018 in England.
